Tips for a successful Co-op Job Fair experience:

  • Dress professionally. Suits for men and women are the most appropriate.   Make sure shoes are also suitable.

  • Bring plenty of resumes to give to employers. Review the companies listed in this directory to see how many  are hiring your major so you have enough copies of your resume, as well as a few extra for other employers and one to hand in at the registration table when you arrive at the fair. Copies given to employers should be on “good” resume paper.

  • Ask the employer if they will be interviewing later in the afternoon. Some employers will be staying to interview students at their table after 2:00 p.m. If you are really interested in a company, it is ok to ask about the possibility of an interview. You may want to prioritize what employers to talk to first since schedules may fill up quickly.

  • Research the employers who will be attending. Our booklet will give you helpful facts about the company, but if you have a one-on-one interview in the afternoon, you might want to do further research.

  • Submit all your paperwork to the Co-Op Office. Be sure to send electronic copy of resume to co-op office (PAUB2M@pitt.edu or JLJ35@pitt.edu) and turn in interest form and co-op schedule in order to be considered for companies not represented at this fair.
